The Ohio Department of Education has released the final, official results of its school report cards for the 2011-12 academic year.

The Woodridge Local School District garnered an Excellent with Distinction status, while the Cuyahoga Falls City School District earned an Effective designation. Woodridge met 25 out of 26 indicators on the report card, and garnered a 101.5 score out of a possible 120 on the performance index, which measures how pupils fared on state tests overall. Woodridge met the Adequate Yearly Progress indicator, which is a federally mandated measurement of student achievement in subgroups. Woodridge scored above in the value-added growth category, a measurement that demonstrates whether fourth- through eighth-grade students have met an expected year of growth in reading and math. Cuyahoga Falls met 24 of 26 indicators, its performance index score was 99.1, it did not meet the Adequate Yearly Progress indicator and it scored met in the value-added measure.

The release of the final 2011-2012 State Report Card was scheduled for August 2012, but was postponed pending the conclusion of the investigation by the Auditor of State into alleged falsified data submitted by several school districts.

Preliminary results were released in October 2012; the results listed for the Falls and Woodridge school districts on the latest release match the ones that came out last fall.

The current state-level report card totals include results for nine districts that were identified earlier this month by the Auditor of State as showing evidence that they scrubbed attendance data to potentially improve their report card results. The 2012 and 2011 report cards for those districts and all of their schools have had a watermark added, indicating that the results are subject to change pending further investigation by ODE.

The information released this year includes a number of new ranking reports as stipulated in state law and Ohios May 2012 waiver from the U.S. Department of Education from certain elements of the No Child Left Behind Act. This report can be found at and includes:

A list of 90 schools that have demonstrated either High Progress or High Performance while serving a significant number of economically disadvantaged students.

A ranking of schools and districts based upon Performance Index scores. The index looks at the performance of every student, not just those who score proficient or higher.

A ranking of districts based on Value-Added results, which show whether students meet the expected one year of growth for students in grades 4-8 in reading and math.
