Six Nordonia High School students out of 200 of their classmates were recognized for their high scores on the annual American Legion Americanism and Government Test.

The statewide and national test is an opportunity for high school students to evaluate themselves on their knowledge of American government and history. Nationally, more than 90,000 students participates in the program, which is jointly sponsored by the legion and auxiliary.

Each of the six received a certificate of participation, an American Legion lapel pin and a $25 check.

Their test papers were forwarded for further consideration for district, state and national awards. National winners will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC where they will visit Arlington National Cemetery and other attractions, including a visit to Gettysburg, Pa.
