A 29-year-old Akron man is facing a felony drug charge after Cuyahoga Falls Police responded to a reported burglary at a State Road residence on Dec. 7.
Joshua T. Rix is charged with illegal assembly of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, a second-degree felony, according to a police news release.
On Dec. 7 at approximately 11:47 a.m., Falls Police patrol units responded to 2522 State Road #2 for a report of a burglary in progress. A male suspect was allegedly attempting to enter the apartment through a window. Responding patrol units concluded no burglary was taking place, but that narcotics activity was involved, the police news release stated.
During a search later that day, the Falls Police narcotics unit found items indicating that the residence was being used in the production of methamphetamine.
Rix, who was already in police custody on outstanding arrest warrants, was then charged with the second-degree felony.
Rix was booked into the Cuyahoga Falls city jail pending his court appearance. The narcotics unit is evaluating the evidence seized during the search and further charges are expected against other suspects, according to the news release.
