Two Stow residents, Lisa Becker and Mary Rinaldi, have stared a new charitable initiative, "Pajamas for Kids," in collaboration with OPEN M.

"Pajamas for Kids" hopes to provide a new pair of pajamas for every child who benefits from OPEN M's Christmas for the Love of Children program. They want to help children in local communities "get a good night's sleep."

OPEN M is a non-profit which services all of Summit County through a free health clinic, food department, education services and family development. OPEN M's mission is to build bridges out of poverty by fostering health, wellness, and nutrition for the body- education for the mind; and hope, joy, and spiritual growth for the soul.

Through its Christmas program last year, OPEN M and their supporters provided more than 900 children in need with gifts and food at Christmas. This year, in collaboration with OPEN M, Pajamas for Kids hopes to provide new pajamas for each child as well.

There will be a citywide "Pajamas for Kids" drive. Pajamas for boys and girls will be collected in sizes 3 months through adult.

Collection bins will be placed in the following Stow businesses: Acme Fresh Market #17 on Kent Road, Beef 'O' Brady's, Gavin Scott Salon and Spa, Sweet Frog, the new Starbucks on Kent Road, White Swan Quality Cleaners, Marquette School of Dance Inc., Stownut Donut, City Hall in Stow and Tubbs Chiropractic in Cuyahoga Falls.

The "Pajamas for Kids" drive will take place through Dec. 10.

To make a monetary donation, make checks payable to: "OPEN M" with "Pajamas for Kids" in the memo line. Donations by check can be sent to: OPEN M: Pajamas for Kids, 941 Princeton St., Akron 44311
