The changes brought about when the Summit County Board of Elections reduced the city's polling places from seven to three have created a situation where people may, out of habit, return to the building where they voted in year's past. The city is making an extra effort to help alleviate that problem.

There will be a sign at each former location that says "No Longer A Voting Location." More importantly, there will be a large 24-inch by 36-inch color map showing what ward and precinct people now live in and where they should vote. The maps will be easy to read and if resident's don't remember their ward and precinct, they can easily locate it by finding their street on the map.

Tallmadge's three polling places and the wards and precincts voting there are:

* First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Drive --

Ward 1, Precincts A, B and C

* Tallmadge Community Center, 80 Community Drive --

Ward 2, Precinct A and Ward 4, Precincts A, B and C

* Tallmadge Recreation Center, 46 N. Munroe Road

Ward 2, Precincts B and C and Ward 3, Precincts A, B and C

At the recreation center, voters will be asked to enter the East Avenue door and flags will be placed to mark the entrance.

There should be adequate parking at each of these locations and traffic control will be provided where needed.

Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, and residents will need to take a form of identification with them.
