Garden club's flower exhibit June 19

Presidential Park Garden Club will host a flower exhibit and twilight salad supper June 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Jan Culligan. The co-hostess for the evening will be Chris Binger. Members are to bring only two of their best horticulture specimens, a flower arrangement depicting any holiday they wish. (miniature, small or regular arrangement) They are also to bring their favorite dinner salad.

A business meeting will follow the supper and the flower exhibit.

Falls Democratic Club will meet June 28

A meeting of the Cuyahoga Falls Democratic Club will take place June 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Cuyahoga Falls Library, 2015 Third St. (lower level). The featured speaker is: John Schmidt, Summit County Council Representative. All Democrats are encouraged to attend. The session will be hosted by Paul Colavecchio, president.

Northampton Historical Society plans tour

The Northampton Historical Society will tour the new Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society Museum (on Cook Street on the east side) on June 25, the fourth Monday of the month at 4 p.m. A car pool will be arranged to leave from the Town Hall around 3:45 p.m. After the tour, a supper at the Oakwood Drive restaurant, Eddy's is planned.

Singles group's next meeting is June 20

Hike For Hounds planned for June 30

The third annual Hike For Hounds Night Hike, sponsored by Greyhound Adoption of Ohio, will take place June 30 at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ledges Picnic Area, Kendall Park Road in Cuyahoga Falls.

Registration is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Pre-registration $10 per dog; day of walk $15 per dog All breeds are welcome.

BBQ dinner is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and the walk starts at 8:30 p.m. and will last approximately 1 to 2 miles.

Gifts for those who raise $50 or more in pledges. All proceeds benefit the retired racers medical and general care funds. For further details call 440-543-6256.

Silver Lake Garden Club meets June 18

The Silver Lake Garden Club will host a "Mother/daughter Garden Party" for its next membership meeting June 18 at the home and garden of Marcia Mandala at 12:30 p.m. Section IV will host. Refreshment will be a luncheon variety of Tea/finger sandwiches and cookies.

Note: If attendees cannot bring their daughter, a guest is welcome.

The Falls Travel Club's trips depart and return from the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave.

Tenants currently signing up for a trip to the Carousel Dinner Theater's production "Always Patsy Cline." The matinee will be on Aug. 4. Sign up for the trip with Judy or Lillian.

The "New to You Shop" is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 2 p.m. Stop in and see what's offered. Shop keepers Pat and Ann will show visitors around. Donations are welcome.

The Hampton Falls AARP club number 5038 informs the public of the following news and trips:

On Aug. 20, the Hampton/Falls AARP has an all-day Bus trip to the Wilds to see giraffes, rhinos, zebras plus many other wild animals roaming the area followed by a deli buffet lunch. Then a old time train ride through the coal mining area of past days and finishing up with a dinner buffet at Theo's in Cambridge, with their delicious homemade pies. Bring grade school or high school children along. Price is $79 per person.

Anyone who is a member of AARP is welcome to come to monthly luncheons at 11:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Cathedral Buffet on State Road. With profits from fund raisers such as Entertainment Books, Acme tapes etc., the club donates to many local organizations such as Haven of Rest, Falls Cancer Club, Local Parkinson, Humane Society, Animal Rescue (Heaven Can Wait) and others.
