Cuyahoga Falls - City Council unanimously approved water-sharing and boundary agreements with the city of Akron May 29.

The agreements have yet to be discussed by Akron City Council, which must approve the contracts for them to take effect. Akron Council is scheduled to meet June 4.

The water-sharing agreement would allow Cuyahoga Falls residents along Akron-Peninsula Road, Portage Trail and Northampton Road to tap into Akron water lines.

Businesses along Akron-Peninsula Road also would have the option to tie-in to the Akron water lines. If a business currently not using Akron water decides to tap into Akron water lines, Cuyahoga Falls would share 50 percent of the business' income taxes with Akron.
