Ceremony in Stow Cemetery will honor veterans

Stow " Mayor Karen Fritschel said the city will continue its Memorial Day tradition of honoring veterans May 28. The Stow Cemetery Board and the Acker-Moore Memorial Post of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will host its annual Memorial Day program the morning of May 28 in Stow Cemetery, 3162 Kent Road. A parade assembly will begin at 10:15 a.m. The ceremony will begin with a march to the Veterans Monument in the cemetery, where the VFW color guard will post the colors, and the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Symphonic Band will perform "America the Beautiful." Post Chaplain Floyd Mault will give the opening remarks for the ceremony and perform the dedication of wreaths, read the honor roll of those soldiers who have been killed in action and missing in action and perform the benediction. Immediately following the service at Stow Cemetery, a wreath will be dedicated at the Doughboy statue in front of Stow City Hall, followed by a reception at the Acker-Moore Memorial Post, 3733 Fishcreek Road.
