Twinsburg -- Approximately 80 acres of farmland owned by Jerry and Esther Corbett has been sold to a limited liability company for approximately $3.5 million, according to the Summit County Fiscal Office.
The transfer of the property, at Glenwood Drive and Route 91, from the Corbetts to Corbett Farms LLC, was finalized May 22, according to the fiscal office Web site.
According to a May 22 press release from a public relations firm for the buyer, the property was purchased by "a team of experienced, local Northeast Ohio developers," and the group has "hired leading property planners to evaluate the parcels for the most effective use of the property."
Reached by phone May 22, Marc Strauss, member of Corbett Farms LLC, confirmed the sale, but declined further comment. The Corbetts could not be reached for comment by press time May 22.
"We are pleased to have worked with the Corbetts on the sale of this property," stated Matt Rosner, spokesperson for Corbett Farms LLC, in the May 22 release. "We are very sensitive to the development needs in the city of Twinsburg, and we will work closely with the city on future plans for the property."
Rosner stated that "a broad range of ideas" are being considered for the land.
