Aurora -- A local man was charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing after a dispute May 9 in the Geauga Lake neighborhood.A woman told police her live-in boyfriend threatened to harm her. The suspect was transported to Portage County Jail. No injuries were reported.In another case, three people were charged with receiving stolen property and taken to Portage County Jail on May 15.Officers were called to Aurora Farms Premium Outlets for a report of suspicious activity and persons. A vehicle was stopped and police said they found stolen items in plain view inside it.The persons arrested were women from Solon and Maple Heights and a man from Cleveland.On May 16, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person inside a vacant housing unit on Elm Creek Way. A Cleveland man was charged with trespassing and obstructing official business and was taken to Portage County Jail.Arrested on warrantsMay 13 -- While checking a report of an alleged drunken man at Aurora Farms Premium Outlets, officers discovered he was wanted on an unspecified warrant. He was turned over to Portage County sheriff's deputies.May 13 -- An Aurora man turned himself in on a warrant for failing to appear in court for a status hearing. He was booked, then released on bond.Property-related itemsMay 12 -- Sign, cones found. A Wheatfield Drive man reported a parade of homes sign and two orange traffic cones were left in his yard. The items were taken to the police station for safekeeping until claimed.May 12 -- Pot, pipe found. An employee of a bar and grill in Aurora Commons reported finding a small quantity of suspected marijuana and a glass smoking pipe in the parking lot. The items were turned in to police for destruction.May 15 -- Cell phone lost. A Solon woman reported she lost her cell phone valued at $500 while visiting on Homestead Drive West.Traffic-related casesMay 10 -- Car-motorcycle collision. A Kent woman was cited for assured clear distance after she struck a motorcycle from behind in the under-100 block of South Chillicothe Road. The motorcyclist was cited for having no motorcycle license endorsement. No damage estimate was available.May 11 -- Juvenile cited. A Streetsboro juvenile was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device in the under-100 block of North Chillicothe Road.Officers said they also found a pipe and small amount of suspected marijuana in the vehicle, and the juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was referred to Portage County Juvenile Court and released to his father.May 12 -- OVI citation. A driver was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after officers spotted him driving around Aurora Farms Premium Outlets after business hours.May 13 -- Rear-end collision. A Garrettsville juvenile was cited for assured clear district after he hit a Bainbridge man's vehicle from behind in the under-100 block of West Garfield Road. No damage estimate was given.May 15 -- Rear-end collision. No citations were issued after an Aurora woman struck an Aurora man's vehicle from behind in the 200 block of West Garfield Road. No damage estimate was given.May 16 -- Rear-end collision. No citations were issued after one Aurora man struck another Aurora man's vehicle from behind on Route 43. No damage estimate was given.Miscellaneous casesMay 9 -- Graffiti at business. A human resources manager at a business in the southern industrial zone reported someone wrote graffiti on a stall in a restroom with a permanent black marker. No damage estimate was given.May 12 -- Assistance. Officers assisted a woman who had been evicted from her apartment. She was given the name and phone number of an agency to contact.May 12 -- Possible fraud. Police were investigating a complaint from a resident who received a "suspicious" letter from a company attempting to verify employment of a family member.
