WALNUT CREEK — The public is invited to enjoy almost 100 pieces of beautiful artwork, live music and demonstrations as part of the "Creativity is Timeless" Exhibit at Walnut Hills Retirement Community on Saturday, Aug. 25.

The exhibit will be held in the Walnut Hills Retirement Home, located at 4770 Olde Pump St. in Walnut Creek, and will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 25. Admission to the exhibit is free.

All of the exhibit’s artwork was completed by amateur artists who are 55 years old or older and who reside in Holmes County and the surrounding area.

"We are excited to celebrate creativity and imagination again this year with artwork in a variety of categories, live music and art demonstrations," said Paula Miller, community relations coordinator, in a news release. "Every year, the pieces submitted by our participating artists have been outstanding. We expect more of the same again this year. We encourage the community to stop by to enjoy the exhibit and help celebrate the talents of older adults in the area."

Visitors to the exhibit will enjoy artwork from a variety of categories, including paintings and drawings; photography; quilting, cross-stitch and other soft crafts; woodworking, ceramics and other hard crafts; and miscellaneous arts and crafts items.

Visitors who stop in at the "Creativity is Timeless" exhibit will have a chance to vote for their favorite piece of artwork, which will help determine the recipient of the People’s Choice Award.

Demonstrations this year on Saturday will include jewelry making by Kayla DeWitt, pottery by Dee Grossman, watercolor painting by Rob VanNatta and pysanka egg decorating by Denise DiGeronimo.
