WOOSTER — The Wayne County Historical Society Summer Community Band will play its second concert this summer on Thursday, July 19, at 7 p.m. on Public Square in downtown Wooster.
Presented by Main Street Wooster, the concert is sponsored by the Wayne County Historical Society, Sprenger Health Care Systems and The Daily Record.
The band will be performing under the baton of Randy Claes, who is in his sixth year with the group. Tim Wolf also will direct.
The band will perform in front of the Everything Rubbermaid store. Spectators will need to bring their own lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the St. Mary School gymnasium on East Bowman Street across from the Wayne County Historical Society.
The program will consist of "fun" songs — marches, show tunes, patriotic songs, etc.
The band, which is open to any musician, is made possible through an anonymous donation from a Wayne County Historical Society member and in cooperation with The College of Wooster and music department faculty members Ned Brooks, Nancy Ditmer and Jeff Lindberg, who provide the rehearsal facility and the loan of instruments.
