Seniors go to play
The senior fellowship at Aurora Mennonite Church will travel to Sugarcreek on June 20 to see a play. The seniors visited Mennonite Central Committee in Kidron recently to assemble 635 school kits. They were placed in shipping boxes to be distributed around the world.
The church's 35th annual missions auction took place June 10 and youths from Smithville Mennonite visited the church June 11 to work at Hattie Larlham. The youth group meets on Wednesdays at 6:30, the Lancaster Mennonite children's chorus will sing June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Church in Aurora and the church elders will meet June 20 at 6:30 p.m.
OLPH class slated
Karen Yash will lead a class focusing on how people in church history have cooperated with God's grace to bring about healings, miracles, wisdom and understanding at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Sessions will be Wednesdays from June 21 to July 19 at either 1 to 3 p.m. or 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There is a $10 fee.
Recent new members of the parish are Anthony and Lauren Brancazio, Ken and Mary Jo Conti and family, Jim and Mary Jo Hohman, Gregory and Janet Hostelley, Richard and Deborah Jones, Patricia Koepplinger and Jaclyn Schulte and Jack.
A parish Feast Day celebration will be June 25 at 10:30 a.m. in honor of Sister Lu Haidnick's 20th anniversary of ministry at OLPH. Volunteers can sign up on sheets available after Masses. There will be an outdoor Mass and spaghetti dinner.
Women of the parish will gather June 22 at 7 p.m. at Tomato Grill on First Street in Hudson for shopping and a meal. Those participating should let Shannon know at 440-679-1325. Other coming events are: June 15 -- choir practice at 7:30 p.m.; June 17-18 -- equal exchange sale.
Study takes break
The Monday night men's Bible study at Hope Luthe-ran Church is taking a break until after Labor Day. There will be no Sunday school classes in July.
Hope members and friends will work at Redeemer Crisis Center's staywell health screenings on June 16. It is a Thrivent-sponsored event. Contact Becky Bell if you are willing to help. Hot lunches will be provided and served by Hope members on July 27 at Redeemer.
Becky's Book Club will meet June 20 at 7 p.m. at Lori's house to discuss "News of the World" by Paulette Jiles. New carpet will be installed June 22-23 in the pastor's office, back Sunday school room and altar area of the sanctuary.
Cornerstone Church of Aurora's Club 306 campout is June 15-16 for youths in grades 3 to 6. Participants should meet at the church at 6 p.m. June 15. Cost is $5 per child. One male sponsor and one female sponsor are needed.
Vacation Bible school will run June 26-30 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. It is for all children ages 3 to 8 (must be potty trained). Registration forms are in the welcome center.
Rummage sale set
The community is invited to drop in and shop for bargains at the annual rummage sale at Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
It begins June 22 from noon to 4:30 p.m. and continues June 23 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and June 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds support the high school youth group for the 2018 National Youth Gathering in Houston.
Every three years Lord of Life takes their youth to the National Youth Gathering, where they are surrounded by more than 35,000 other Lutheran youths.

On June 18, the children and volunteers involved with Lord of Life's vacation Bible school will share songs during the 10:45a.m. service. Afterward, the church will celebrate with popcorn. Close to 200 children and volunteers participated in VBS.
Sale, VBS at AUM
Aurora United Methodist Church's annual rummage sale will be June 17 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Items to donate must be delivered to the church June 12-16 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Vacation Bible school will take place July 10-14 with the theme "Hero Central." Hours will be 5:45 to 8 p.m. Families can sign up at www.2017.cokesburyvbs.com/AuroraUMC
Recent graduates will be recognized at the June 18 worship service. Youths will be in Mansfield working with Blue Rose Mission to repair homes for those in need June 25-July 1.
Camp, trip at CCC
Christ Community Chapel's vacation Bible camp will run June 20-23 from 9 a.m. to noon. A kickoff session will be June 19 at 6 p.m. Youngsters age 3 to fifth grade will participate in "Treasure: A Pirate Tail." Cost is $15 per person, including a T-shirt. Some church youths will leave June 25 for a week-long mission trip to Pawley's Island, S.C.
Bible school is set
HIS Ministry Church on Route 82 east of Aurora plans its "Operation Arctic" vacation Bible school June 26-30 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for children age 4 to those who have just completed the seventh grade.
A closing program will take place June 30 at 7 p.m. The Bible school will feature lessons, songs, games, refreshments, crafts and science experiments. For more information, call 330-562-1212.
St. Rita sets tours
Area residents are invited to join the parishioners of St. Rita Church in Solon for a guided motorcoach day tour of "True Polish Treasures." Cost is $79 per person and includes a narrated tour at the Polish American Culture Center, tours of the Polish Cultural Center Garden and St. John Cantius Church , ethnic lunch at Seven Roses Restaurant and tours of Shrine of St. Stanislaus and St. Barbara's Catholic Church. Kids choir to sing
The Lancaster Mennonite Children's Choir will perform June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Church in Aurora. The church is now on its summer schedule, with one service on Sundays at 10 a.m. This summer's work camps will be as follows: June 25-July 1 to Chillicothe and July 9-15 to Rushville, Ind. Eligibility includes adults and junior / senior high students who will be at least 12 years old by the last day of workcamp or have completed the sixth grade.
