The Rotary Club of Aurora's 17th annual Taste of the Western Reserve will be April 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Signature of Solon off Route 43 between Aurora and Solon.

Tickets are $35 each in advance and $40 at the door, and a table of 10 costs $400. There will be sample "tastes" from about 20 Northeast Ohio restaurants and food outlets, plus a silent auction and raffle ticket sales. The latter will benefit the Believe in Dreams organization.

Last year, more than 400 guests attended the event. Support of the event allows the Rotary Club to do charitable work supporting local, national and international causes. Several levels of sponsorships also are available.

Meanwhile, Dave Johnson of the Downtown Rotary Club will speak at Rotary's April 19 meeting and Tim Natale, author of "Man in the Mirror" will speak at the April 26 meeting. Both meetings are at 7:30 a.m. District 6630's annual conference is April 21-23 at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls.


Aurora Chamber of Commerce welcomes businesses that joined the Chamber in the past 12 months plus new employees of existing member companies to attend a new member breakfast April 20 at 8 a.m. in the Howard Hanna community room at Barrington Town Square. It is free to attend, but registrations are required.

A multi-Chamber social networking business after hours will be April 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the NEW Center at NEOMED on Route 44 in Rootstown. Cost is $15, including appetizers, parking and a cash bar. Reservations must be made at and must be pre-paid. Deadline to sign up is April 14.

A 3Chamber networking luncheon (Aurora, Solon and Twinsburg) will be April 25 at 11:30 a.m. at Signaturre of Solon. Linda Barita, director of strategic alliances for MAGNET, will talk about how manufacturers can grow their business. Her has more than 25 years of industry experience. Registration is required.

A Wine and Wheels business after hours will be hosted by Don Joseph Toyota at 1111 W. Main St., Kent, on April 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It is free, but registration is necessary.

Aurora Chamber's May networking luncheon will be the 24th at 11:30 a.m. at the Bella Vita Event Center. Brad Ehrhart of the Portage County Development Board will speak.
