The First Congregational Church of Tallmadge celebrated their 208th birthday on Sunday, Jan. 22. The worship service was led by the current Senior Pastor the Rev. Dr. John Schluep, with help provided by the Rev. David Bacon, aka Ken Hammontree, above left, with cake. Bacon preached about the first settlers in the Connecticut Western Reserve and the formation and building of the church on Tallmadge Circle. A birthday celebration luncheon and cake were served to the congregation following the service.
