Moms night nears
A moms night out for members and guests of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church will be Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at El Camino Restaurant. RSVPs are requested but not required. For details, call Shannon at 440-679-1325.
The Piecemakers delivered 10 afghans, five quilts, 38 hats and 15 scarfs to Catholic Charities and the Freedom House in Kent.
A Red Cross bloodmobile is today (Jan. 4) from 1 to 7 p.m. at the church. The next yoga session begins Jan. 11 and runs for six weeks. Classes are Wednesdays at 9:45 a.m. in the narthex.

Retreat set soon
The Church in Aurora will host a workcamp fundraiser "Complete Your Project" retreat Jan. 19 from 5 to 10 p.m., Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to midnight and Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
It is a weekend of women's fellowship and getting projects done, including scrapbooks, cards or anything participants need uniinterrupted time to complete.
Snacks, coffee, soda and water will be available, with dinner Friday night and lunch and dinner Saturday. All proceeds go to the 2017 youth workcamp mission trips. Deadline for signups is Jan. 6.
The church's annual meeting is Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. Reports from 2016 will be presented, the 2017 budget will be proposed, incoming elected and appointed officials will be voted on and installed and other business will be discussed.
Recent baptisms are Ilyana Kennedy Poling, Anderson James Trook and Elijah Jameson Camp. There will be no Circle 3H meeting in January. The next one will be Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. to make candy to aid workcamp 2017.
Jennifer Dieterle and Jonas Pattie are new members of the church. The Women's Guild will have its soup and salad lunch Jan. 11 at 11:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Bob Harris will present a travelogue "Following the Footsteps of Paul."
Workcampers will take orders for Super Bowl sub sandwiches starting in the middle of January. The next 3-H Evening Group meeting is Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Eldridge Library to review chapters 17-18 of Billy Graham's book "Where I Am."
A new women's sudy begins the last Wednesday night in January and runs through May. The book is "Present Over Perfect" by Shauna Niequest. Meetings are at 7 p.m. in Hansen Hall. Contact Liz Sutter if interested.
Carol Bowman has taken over as the church librarian after Sara Akins retired following more than 20 years in the post. Bowman has been a Sunday school teacher, superintendent of the adult Christian education department, a deacon and trustee.
Winter Fest slated
Lord of Life Lutheran Church on Route 306 in Bainbridge Township will kick off the new year with a Winter Fest on Jan. 8 at 9:30 a.m.
Children ages preschool to fifth grade will arrive dressed for the weather and prepared to play inside and outside. The fest is a kickoff to the new year as children return to Sunday school.
