At its Dec. 7 meeting, the Rotary Club of Aurora elected two new board members -- Dale Thorne and Roger Cram.

Al Connors reported that the club was the No. 1 collector of money while ringing the Salvation Army bell recently at Giant Eagle in Streetsboro, with a total of $1,392.

Cram gave an update on the progress of the Engoshura well project. Brady Krebs said he will match any Rotary International contributions made in December.

Rotarians helped serve at the city's breakfast with Santa Dec. 3 and 10. Paul Kostanza reported the first weekend was a huge success.

The meeting included a Pearl Harbor remembrance by Pam Mehallis.

Some important coming dates are: Dec. 21 -- students of the month will be recognized at the regular meeting; Dec. 28 -- no meeting; Jan. 4 -- Rahab Ministries will speak about human trafficking; Jan. 11 -- business meeting; Jan. 25 -- Jim Redmond will speak about the Rotary Foundation.
