Pilgrim United Church of Christ has begun its fall offering for children ages Kindergarten through fifth grade. Historically involved with the community as a whole, congregants continue to try to find new ways to fill the needs of families in the area. J.O.Y. (Jesus. Others. You.) Kids Club is one of those programs. It's designed to offer parents a worry-free evening, knowing that their children are enjoying wholesome food, crafts, and activities, so that they can run errands, complete household chores, or simply have some much-needed quiet time.

This year's program, which features the Parables of Jesus, is underway and will occur each Wednesday through Dec. 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. At 6 p.m. a light meal is served and after eating the fun begins. Children are invited to participate in activities utilizing a variety of learning strategies including computer, drama, science, gardening, cooking, music and crafts.

On the Parables of Jesus, Marilyn Freeman, the Faith Formation Director of Pilgrim United Church of Christ said, "The stories help us to understand that God loves and cares for us, they explain the way that we can grow in God's love and grace and how we can experience forgiveness and compassion.
