Join a Northampton Bible Church neighborhood small group in their journey to uncover the answers to these questions and many more through Rick Warren's "40 Days in the Word" beginning the week of Oct. 2.

Bethany United Church of Christ

Bethany United Church of Christ is located at 1235 Broad Blvd.

The building is handicapped accessible by parking in the small lot adjacent to the church on 13th Street. Bethany welcomes visitors to join in worship and fellowship.

Faith formation is at the heart of the disciple-making that we have been called to do by Jesus in Matthew 28 from the crib to the grave. Classes for all ages are presented Sunday mornings.

Worship service will take place in the Sanctuary beginning at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Steve Welker will lead the worship on Oct. 2, and Bethany UCC will participate in World Communion Sunday. The day has taken on new relevancy and depth of meaning in a world where globalization often has undermined peace and Justice - and in a time when fear divides the peoples of God's earth. On this day the church celebrates its oneness in Christ.

First United

Methodist Church

Worship services at First°United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, are on Sundays at 8:30 and 11 am. There are many Sunday School classes for all ages which meet from 9:45-10:45 a.m. There is child care available for infants through preschoolers all morning and a Children's Worship service for those in kindergarten-fifth grade is during the 11 a.m. service.

The Wesley Youth Outing is for all fourth through sixth graders. This month they will travel by church bus to Nickajack Pumpkin Farm on Oct. 9. Children should bring a sack lunch to eat at noon in Asbury Hall and they will leave from there, returning at 5:30 p.m. Call the church office at 330-923-5241, ext. 218 to register or for questions.

First Christian Church

First Christian Church, located on the corner of Second Street and Stow Avenue, invites all to come and explore faith in Sunday School, small groups, or worship.

Child care is available for Sunday School and Sunday Worship. Sunday mornings at 9:30 are the Sunday School programs for all ages. Sunday at 10:45 explore Scripture's application to everyday life, or get a "Second Wind" at the alternative worship service on Wednesday nights at 6:30. This informal and interactive service looks at current events through the lens of faith. Also on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. is the Gospel According to Harry Potter class. This class discusses ways in which the Gospel and Harry Potter series interconnects. This week, the group is discussing book 3 of Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

On Oct. 2, the congregation is having worship and a pet blessing outside, behind the church, in the gazebo area. Pets are invited to be present during all of worship. If a pet is not comfortable around other pets alternative arrangements can be made for that pet.

Saint Joseph Parish

Registration is now open for the 2016 Winter CYO Sports Season for the following: third through eighth grade boys basketball registration; third through eighth grade girls basketball registration; and third through eighth grade cheer - There are fees to participate. October is designated "Respect For Life Month." To support this mission, Knights of Columbus Council 2362 will place a baby playpen at the front entrance of St. Joseph Church through Oct. 30. Parishioners are asked to help fill the playpen with baby and toddler items. All donations will be taken to the Community Pregnancy Center in Barberton.

St. Joseph will be the host site for the first six weekly meetings of JustFaith, an intensive, small-group program for faithful Christians looking to deepen their commitment to care for vulnerable people and the planet. The group will meet in Nolan Hall on Tuesdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. through Nov. 1. Following the first six weeks, JustFaith participants will meet for phases two, three and four of the program at other locations in Summit county. All are invited to participate in the America Needs Fatima: Rosary Rally on Oct. 14 at noon. The church will pray the Rosary together for peace in front of the Blessed Mother's Statue on the corner of Broad Boulevard and Second Street in Cuyahoga Falls. Northampton United Methodist Church

Northampton United Methodist Church has a Grief Share group that began on Sept. 25. This is a class for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one as they are guided through the grieving process. Contact the church for more information.

Kids' Capes of Courage is having a capes cutting session on Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the church gym. There is nothing to bring -- scissors, patterns and fabric are all provided. All are welcome to help with this heartwarming ministry.

There will be a garage sale of excess furniture and equipment on Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Presbyterian Church

Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trail Extension, worships at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday with the Rev. Stephanie Crossland.

The Rev. Crossland will speak on Oct. 8 on "Seek to Give Thanks," and on Oct. 16, her message will be "Building Justice." Both Sunday messages will include readings from Jeremiah and Luke. Children's Sunday School classes meet during the morning worship service, following "A Moment with God's Children." The classes include stories, games, crafts and music. The Junior Shining Stars' class is for children in kindergarten through second grade, and The Senior Shining Stars' class is for those in third grade through sixth grade. Their study theme for the month of October is Freedom. Lessons will include The Burning Bush, Moses and Pharaoh and Crossing the Sea. All children are welcome to join the classes at any time. A nursery room is staffed and open for those children under the age of 5. Also, a cry room is available at the rear of the sanctuary. The church is handicapped accessible and large print bulletins and hymnals are available.

The All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinners will begin again on Oct. 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dinner includes spaghetti with Alfredo, marinara or chunky meat sauce, salad, bread, dessert and beverage.

St. John's Episcopal Church

Join the congregation for Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

The Sunday School class begins at 9:45 and includes Bible lessons for kids and a fun activity each week. The congregation welcomes everyone to worship and share the Eucharist with all who are sincere in their faith -- not just Episcopalians.

The church looks forward to its annual spaghetti dinner on Oct. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. The free-will donations for the dinner benefit Cuyahoga Falls Good Neighbors and all of its great work.

The church will have a Pet Adoption program from "Paws and Prayers Animal Rescue" on Oct. 9 at 4 p.m., followed by its annual "Blessing of the Pets" at 5 p.m., welcoming everyone with a pet (or more). There's a Yoga class for all skill levels on Mondays at 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, there's a more challenging Yoga at 9 a.m., all on the third floor for a payment to certified Yoga instructor. It's free for church members.
