The Women’s Council of Hiram College will again sponsor its annual, admission-free Day in the Country on June 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hiram College’s Martin Fieldhouse on Route 305, just east of the intersection of Routes 82 and 700.
The event is a sale of attic treasures, books, collectibles, country store items (baked goods, jams), jewelry,and plants, plus a Chinese auction and silent auction. A buffet lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. for $16. If interested, call Jan West at 330-569-7403 or Jane Dye at 330-569-3119.
There will be plenty of free parking at the Martin Fieldhouse on Route 305. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the Women’s Council of Hiram College’s scholarship fund.

Following its tradition of summer programs at the beautiful Knight Grove on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, the Blossom Women’s Committee is planning three gourmet luncheons.
Kicking off the series July 11 will be the Cleveland Orchestra’s Jack Sutte on trumpet, Jesse McCormick on horn and Richard Stout on trombone.
The program on July 30 will feature Orchestra horn player Hans Clesch demonstrating his ever-growing collection of rare horns.
The third performance will be Aug. 27 and will feature the music of Antonin Dvorak with violinists Elaylna Duitman and Sue Shiragami, violists Lisa Bayko and Lembi Ceskimets and cellist David Alan Harrell.
