The Rotary Club of Aurora will have a social gathering and dinner meeting tonight (Jan. 22) at 6 at Doogan’s in Barrington Town Square. New members Kathleen Grandillo, Rebecca Moore and Amy McDougald will be installed by District Gov. Bob Johnson. Cost is $30 for a bufet-style dinner.
On Jan. 29, Auditor of State Dave Yost will speak at the club’s regular 7:30 a.m. meeting at Doogan’s. Guests are welcome as long as members inform member Larry ahead of time. Cost is $8. The club also will honor two Aurora High School students of the month with their parents.

Aurora residents Michael and Melissa Pickett are the parents of Julianna Susan Pickett, who was born Jan. 9 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces.
Maternal grandparents are Janet and Mike Long of Ulysses, Kan. and paternal grandparents are Dr. Andrew and Debbie Pickett of Liberty, Mo. Great-grandparents are Madison and Patricia Trasten of Ulysses, Kan., Verna Long of Wichita, Kan. and Walter and Joan Runde of Liberty, Mo.

Area residents are reminded about the “New Year, New You” 3Chamber Women’s Expo on Jan. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Twinsburg. It is open to the public with free admission. More than 65 booths featuring goods and service for women will be there. Free interactive workshops with Doris Mayer of Mayer Business Group LLC will be “Take Your Brain on Vacation” at 5 p.m. and “What is Your Energy Quotient?” at 6.
Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin and schools Superintendent Russ Bennett will deliver the “State of the City” address at the Aurora Chamber’s Feb. 13 luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Bertram Inn and Conference Center. Cost is $20 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members, and must be paid in advance. There is a $5 late free after Feb. 7 if seating is available.
The membership services committee will meet Jan. 28 at 8 a.m. at the Chamber offices, while the pro-business/tourism committee will gather Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. in Aurora Farms Premium Outlets’ conference room.
