Grace Summit Community Church

The church, located at 2960 Bailey Road, is having a vacation Bible school fun day on June 30 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for children ages 5 to 12 years. Lunch will be provided. Activities include David and Goliath Bible story play, games, inflatable obstacle course and more. Parents are welcome back at 2 p.m. for the closing ceremony and dessert.

The community is invited to an outdoor service July 1 at 10 a.m.

Bethany United Church of Christ

Bethany's summer workshop hours start June 17 as follows: 8:30 a.m. -- a casual informal worship service in the social hall and at 9:30 a.m. -- a traditional worship service in the sanctuary. Nursery is available (9:15 to 10:30 a.m.) for children up to 4 years old during 9:30 worship service. Kindergarten to sixth grades will attend the worship service at 9:30, stay through the children's message and then leave for Sunday school in the children's library.

The vacation Bible school crew at the church is preparing for a vacation Bible school water park adventure. They are getting ready to "Take the Plunge and Make a Splash with Jesus." As kids move from one activity to the next, they will be soaking up lessons that will last a lifetime.

Word of His Grace Fellowship

Word of His Grace Fellowship will be hosting "SonForce Kids Special Agents" vacation Bible school from June 18 through 20. On June 18 and June 19 the program will begin at 6 p.m. On June 20, the program for the entire family will begin at 7 p.m. This three-day event will include music, skits, games, prizes and Bible lessons. Rock Bottom Church

The Rock Bottom Vineyard on Father's Day will celebrate Fathers with a free Father's Day Brunch. This day will also kick-off the church's new Sunday morning meeting time of 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 4818 State Road, Suite D. This is directly across the street from Alro Steel. The Church in the Falls

The Church in the Falls, 837 Chestnut Boulevard, is now offering Avalanche Ranch, a five-day vacation Bible school program that starts June 25 at the Church In The Falls. This program will be from 9:30 a.m. until noon each day and consists of dynamic Bible story presentations, crafts, recreation, snacks, music and inflatables. The Church in Silver Lake will host its vacation Bible school from July 9 through 13 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The theme this year is an ocean of adventure and the scriptures. Northminster Presbyterian Church

"Lift Off" at Northminster Church June 18 to 22 at the church's vacation Bible school "Soaring to New Heights With God" from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. New Day Fellowship

New Day Fellowship on June 17 will host "Hole in One Putt Off." Men will hear a practical talk about marriage "The Ways We Love." The theme will not only be to provide encouragement and practical help, but to also incorporate a little fun and challenge into the day. As men arrive they'll have the opportunity to shoot the best of three putts. There will be prizes for the top three guys. New Day Fellowship meets each Sunday, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium. At New Day attendees will find friendly people gathering in a casual atmosphere and enjoy complimentary doughnuts and coffee before and during the service. Bride of Christ Fellowship

Bride of Christ Fellowship, a house church, will be having its Wednesday evening services at 542 Broadway Street East at 7:15 p.m.

Saturday Bible studies take place at the same location at 2 p.m. The current topic being discussed is the end-time mysteries that are to be revealed before the return of Christ. All are welcome and encouraged to bring any questions about the Bible and Christianity.

First United

Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, offers two camps for youth and children every summer and it is open to anyone in the area. Registration is now open for Epworth Camp for incoming grades 7 to 12, which will be July 22 to 27 and for Wesley Camp (incoming grades 4 to 6) which will be July 22 to 24. On Father's Day, June 17, there will be a gift of music at the church at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services.

The musical "Where is Jesus" will be presented by the Testify Community Youth Choir, which has more than 125 members and represents approximately 25 churches in the Mooresville, N.C. area. All are welcome.

Starting on June 24, the Sunday services at the church will be at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. There will be child care for babies through age 5 at both services and Children's Worship for children in Kindergarten through age 6 during the 10:30 service.

Pilgrim United

Church of Christ

Pilgrim United Church of Christ, at 130 Broad Blvd. welcomes children and adults this week to its Pirates of Pilgrim Cove vacation Bible school. Sessions begin June 18 and continue every night till June 20. They'll start each evening at 6:30 and will end at 8:30.

Children preschool through fifth grade will learn Christian approaches on how to deal with bullies through pirates adventures, stories, games, music and crafts.

The adults will be offered different themes each night. On June 18, the adults will hear Brian Ewart tell about his adventures of dog sledding and car racing in the snows of Norway. June 19 features school counselor Krista Bridges discussing bullies. On June 20, Brandy Franks will speak about the Montessori teaching philosophy. On June 21, Tom Woodburn and Robin will present Home Remodeling 101.

The week will conclude on June 22 with a family dinner and a visit from Akron Zoo Zoomobile's Fins, Feathers and Scales.

Vacation Bible school is free and open to everyone, although donations will be received for the Mia Tia Day Care Center in Costa Rico, San Jose. The center serves poor children one month through 12 years.

First United Methodist Church of Akron

First United Methodist Church of Akron will offer the class "Three Simple Rules Guaranteed to Improve Your Finances." The class is open to anyone who would like to improve their personal economic situation, but is limited to the first eight individuals or families that sign up. Sessions will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on June 28, July 5, 12 and 19. The deadline to register is June 24 and registration can be made by calling the church office at 330-376-8143.

Broadman Baptist Church

At Broadman Baptist Church, 350 E. Bath Road, on Sundays: prayer is at 9 a.m., fellowship/coffee is at 9:30, Life Impact/Sunday School Classes are at 9:45, and Worship Celebration is at 11 a.m.

On Wednesdays at Broadman, at 6:30 there is praise and worship, prayer, and learning for all ages. Nursery available. Activities end at 8. Choir/praise and worship end at 9.

The community is welcomed to participate in the church's mission projects. The Mission of the Month in June is collecting new teddy bears and other new small stuffed animals 6 to 10 inches in size. The animals may not have clothing, movable parts or small items such as buttons which would be a choking hazard. The stuffed animals will be donated to the Cuyahoga Falls Police and Fire Departments, which in turn will place the animals in patrol cars and ambulances to help children who have been affected by a recent tragedy.
