Hudson's popular summertime movie series is back for its seventh year of outdoor films on the First and Main Green.

Screen on the Green is a project of Leadership Hudson and has been a hugely successful event for the community each summer.

This event will once again partner with other community organizations to provide movies on nights when there are other programs happening around town.

That way, they can build on the attractions of existing programs in town and avoid putting more stress on city resources with additional events on added nights.

Many families like to set up chairs for the movie on the green before the ice cream social, then they head up for ice cream and fun and make their way back to the green for the film.

"It's a perfect night," says Shelly Chadwick, Hudson resident and mother of two. "My girls love to attend the ice cream social to see friends and of course, enjoy the sweets and then we head back down to the green and watch the movie together as a family."

This year's movie lineup is already receiving great feedback as it contains big blockbuster films from the past year. It includes:

-- Friday, July 21, La La Land

-- Saturday, Aug. 26, Moana

Screen on the Green continues to attract new visitors with each film and the planning team has found that as word continues to spread about the films, it attracts a wider and more diverse audience.

Keith Smith, one of the Program Managers for Screen on the Green, said, "We are excited and so honored to bring the community such a popular event. It's always fun to see people meet up on the green and have a great night with family and friends because of something we are involved with planning.

"We look forward to it every summer and I'm really proud to be a part of it."
