James D. and Marilyn Jean Hawkins of Stow will be celebrating their golden wedding anniversary with their daughters and their families on a cruise.
James D. Hawkins and Marilyn Jean Schafer were married June 18, 1967, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Tampa, Fla.
Their family includes their daughters and sons-in-law, Hope and Ron Morrison of Brimfield, Faith and Paul Glaze of Cuyahoga Falls, Lorain and Allen Graves of Brimfield and Charity and Tommy Phelps of Suffield, along with 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hawkins was employed with Betsy Ross Foods, which became Peter J. Schmitt Foods, for 23 years and with the Flood Co., in Hudson for five years before retiring in 2008.
Mrs. Hawkins was employed with the Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education for 29 years before retiring in 2004.
Mr. Hawkins is vice president of the Alumni Association of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent and Mrs. Hawkins is a member of Hope Community Church of Hudson.
