The 40th annual Hudson Bandstand Committee summer concert series, sponsored by the Hudson Kiwanis, is underway.

Hudson High School is known throughout the area for its excellent Jazz program. Each ensemble performs a varied repertoire of jazz styles from 1900 to today, including swing, funk, be-bop, Latin and rock. Jazz I is directed by Mr. Roberto Iriarte and Jazz II is directed by Mr. John Burrington. Close out the weekend and support our kids with this relaxing concert on the green.

Since 1977, Hudson families and folks from surrounding communities have spent summer Sundays enjoying music on the green in front of the gazebo.

This summer's schedule is full of favorites like Laflavor and Twist, and of course local talent like the Brass Band of the Western Reserve and the Strongsville City Jazz Band. Mark your calendars for this summer's anniversary celebration on Father's Day, June 18, when The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation hosts the Cleveland Pops Orchestra at Western Reserve Academy (additional parking courtesy of St. Mary's Parish). AFTER, Memorial Day, all concerts will take place on Sunday evenings in June and July at 7 p.m., August concerts will move to 6 p.m. start time. For more, see www.hudsonbandstand.org.
