In 1977, a small group of residents in Hudson decided to host a series Sunday evening concerts on the green in front of the gazebo in downtown Hudson.

The idea was to bring free music and opportunity for family time to the community. This tradition has continued as generations of families' have enjoyed this summer concert series.

This year marks the 40th anniversary celebration, and the schedule is as follows:

May 29 -- 7 p.m., Hudson High Jazz I and II; June 4 -- 7 p.m., Dan Zola Orchestra; June 11 -- 7 p.m., Western Reserve Big Band; June 18 -- 7 p.m., Cleveland Pops; June 25 -- 7 p.m., Air National Guard Band of the Northeast; July 2 -- 7 p.m., Boogie Woogie Kid; July 9 -- 7 p.m., Quentin Flagg.

July 16 -- 7 p.m., Brass Band of the Western Reserve; July 23 -- 7 p.m., Strongsville City Jazz Swing Band; July 30 -- 7 p.m., TWIST; Aug. 6 --6 p.m., LaFlavour; Aug. 13 -- 6 p.m., Cleveland TOPS; Aug. 20 -- 6 p.m., Western Reserve Community Band; Aug. 27 -- 6 p.m., Belairs.
