Program Schedule for Feb. 13 19

In celebration of Black History Month, "A Trumpet at the Walls of Jericho: The Untold Story of Samuel Harrison" is a film produced in 2005 by Mike Kirk for Western Reserve Academy about the life of its first African American student, a freed slave who fought for civil rights and the anti-slavery movement. The film contains many references to early Hudson and the abolitionist effort.

Friday night's HHS Basketball vs. Wadsworth will be shown that evening and the weekend.

Hudson Explorers Girls Basketball Game vs the Stow Lady Bulldogs is shown this week.

KB Time presents Irv Korman. His books include decades of profiles of some of Hollywood's biggest stars. He also discusses his children's book "Antuan Was Hear" humorous remembrances from his years as an educator in the Akron Public Schools and at the University of Akron.

Through the Eyes of the Artist, Felicia Zavarella Stadelman presents the story of award-winning photographer Steve McCurry. McCurry, an American photojournalist, is best known for his dangerous work during the Afghanistan war with Russia. His most famous photograph, "The Afghan Girl" appeared on the cover of National Geographic magazine. Taped by Nick Zaklanovich and Allyn Marzulla.

Tracy Thomas presents her book, "Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the Feminist Foundations of Family Law" about Stanton's views and her place in history.

The Woman's Club of Hudson features State Representative Kristina Roegner, "What a State Representative's Duties Entail."

The Hudson Rotary Club welcomes Karen Leith, retired professor, speaking about her recent trip to Cuba and its evolving relationship with the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Hudson Genealogical Study Group presents Exploring Newspaper Sources with Tom Neel, by public access producers Mary Hughes and Barbara Bos.

A new edition of Forum 360: The Makings of Theater with Bill Saus interviewing the Weathervane Theatre's longtime volunteer, Ian Haberman, about the workings of the realm of theater.

The City Club of Cleveland presents Medicaid and Health Reform Past, Present and The Uncertain Future with Benjamin D. Sommers, M.D., Ph.D., and a panel discussion: We the People - The Rising Tide of Global Populism.
