Libert and Madeline (Danzi) Bozzelli of Cuyahoga Falls celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Oct. 26.
They were married Oct. 26, 1946, at St. Martha's Church in Akron. There was a wedding dinner at Iacomini's Restaurant, followed later in the evening with a reception and dancing for 600 people at Carovillese Club in Akron.
They have four children: Dennis Bozzelli of Cuyahoga Falls; Marlene Czetli of Cuyahoga Falls; Kathleen Hovey of Silver Lake; and Tom Bozzelli of New York City.
They also have six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Libert was a business agent for the Sheet Metal Workers Local 70 (now known as Local 33) for 42 years, and has been a member of the union for 70 years.
Madeline worked at the Summit County Board of Elections for 20 years.
The Bozzellis will celebrate again at the Carovillese Club with family and friends. The same types of food, drinks, cake and cookies that were served in 1946 will be served again.
The couple recently enjoyed a 70th anniversary "honeymoon" in Reno, Nev.
Their marriage was blessed during a recent Mass at St. Joseph Church.
The Bozzellis' childhood was in the North Hill section of Akron but most of their married life they have called Cuyahoga Falls their home. Both Madeline and Libert have given back to the city they love with their community actions, according to their daughter, Kathleen.
