Ronald D. and Mary Lou (Collins) Simon of Cuyahoga Falls celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 30.

Ron and Mary Lou were married June 30, 1957, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Akron.

Ron and Mary Lou renewed their vows on June 30, 2016, in their home surrounded by immediate family and close friends. The renewal service was conducted by their parish priest, Father John Assaf. After the ceremony guests enjoyed a punch and cake celebration.

Mary Lou's maid of honor, Nancy Dimtroff (Sekulich), was able to stand by the bride's side once again after traveling from Toledo. Ron's brother, John Simon Jr. of Stow, served as best man.

Ron is the retired art department head and teacher in the Cuyahoga Falls City School District. Ron retired from teaching in 1986 after 30 years of service. Mary Lou is retired from the University of Akron School of Social Work. Mary Lou retired in 2007 with 22 years of service to become Ron's primary caregiver.

Ron and Mary Lou have lived in Cuyahoga Falls since 1958. They have one daughter, Wendy Simon, and two granddaughters, Samantha (Alex Kincaid) and Jordan.
