Spirit of Macedonia Fun Fest

Community booths, food, rides and fireworks are on all top for this year's Spirit of Macedonia festival. Recreation Director Angela Manley said they are adding a car show a 5k to the festivities this year. Live music and a beer tent are available for adults and superheroes will be on hand for the kids to meet and greet. The four-day festival will be held in the parking lot at the rec center by Longwood Park June 2 to 5. Admission is free. For booth or sponsorship information call 330-468-8370.

St. Barnabas Parish Festival

The 15th annual St. Barnabas Parish Fesitval will be June 17 to 19. Deanna Bulter, spokespeson for St. Barnabas, said the biggest news for this year's event is they will raffle off a 2016 Chevy Cruze, donated by Spitzer Chevrolet. She said there will also be a $2,500 raffle and a $1,000 prize raffle. The three day event will have live entertainment each night including: Who's Counting, June 17 at 7 p.m. Pieces of Eight, June 18 at 7 p.m. and Ralph Szubski and his polka band at 4 p.m. June 19. Other entertainment includes an indoor air conditioned Casino, a Texas Hold 'Em tournament June 18, live Bingo, rides, carnival food and food trucks like Swensons, Corbo's and Krakow Deli. Butler said also new this year is a third party vendor tent for businesses like Premier Designs, Pampered Chef, Thirty-One and more. Nordonia Hills Concerts

Nordonia Hills will be alive with the sound of music as the concerts in the park return for the summer months in 2016. Music lovers can pull up a blanket or chair and enjoy the summer concert series on the first Sunday of the month, from 5 to 7 p.m. at various parks throughout the area. The first concert will be June 5 at Sagamore Hills Park, 11550 Valley View Road, featuring Logan Wells.

Other concerts will be July 3 at Northfield Village's Smith Park, 125 Houghton Road, featuring The Good Knights. The Aug. 7 concert, featuring Katch, will coincide with Northfield Center's annual ice cream social at Northfield Center Town Hall, 9546 Brandywine Road. The final concert of the season is scheduled for Sept. 4 at Macedonia's Longwood Park, 1566 E. Aurora Road, featuring Jeff Pecon.
