The Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society museum and The Learned Owl Book Shop in Hudson will host signings for the new “Silver Lake Park” book by local author and historian Mary L. McClure. Silver Lake Park, which operated from the 1870s to 1917, had dozens of attractions ranging from one of the largest dance halls in the area, a miniature railway, roller coaster and other mechanical rides, live animal exhibits, including the first public aquarium in Ohio, an early aviation field, water toboggans, steamships and much more.
The museum book signing will be April 13 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society, 2083 Cook St.
Another book signing will take place at the Learned Owl, 204 N. Main St. in Hudson, April 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. The event also features fellow Arcadia Publishing author James Pryor, who will be signing copies of his new book “Akron Aviation.”
