Canton, Ohio — The Canton Museum of Art, supported by Malone University, Kent State University Stark and Walsh University, presents the 23rd annual Stark County High School Art Exhibition, on view March 21 through April 13, 2014, in the Museum’s lower galleries. Admission to the exhibition is free.
The StarkCounty High School Art Exhibition provides an exciting opportunity for aspiring artists to have their work exhibited in a professional museum setting. All pieces presented are original works created as part of their school curriculums and chosen by the school’s art instructor. Each school is limited to ten entries with no more than two per artist. Works are judged on both originality and technical ability.
Canton Museum of Art Curator Lynnda Arrasmith said, “Each year, the quality of this exhibit grows, with new media and styles providing diverse contrasts and messages. We’re proud to have this unique exhibit and such fresh talent in the galleries for all to enjoy.”
An awards ceremony will be April 1, at a reception scheduled from 5 to 7 pm. Awards will be presented at 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend. College scholarship awards for the First, Second and Third Place are $1,000, $600 and $400, respectively.
