Festival-goers can support the military at Clay's Park by giving donations for care packages, submitting photo and video messages, and participating in the live celebration. "This year we are celebrating a different charity each day of the festival," Ms. Lowery D Lockard, event producer/coordinator said. "Saturday is a day for celebrating the service of our military of today and yesterday." The charity focus on July 27 is The Dane Foundation and on July 29 the Summit County, Guns & Hoses charity will benefit. The military tribute will include a special music and video celebration with country artist Michael Peterson during the headlining show on Saturday night, fireworks, a Tribute Tower, and more, Lockard said. There are many ways the public is encouraged to participate in and support this military tribute. "We will be collecting cash and product donations at the event for local service men and women overseas," Lockard said. These donations will become care packages with assistance from the S.O.S. Organization (Supporting our Service Men & Women) from Walsh University. This student driven organization will prepare personalized care packages to be sent directly to Northeast Ohio military that are stationed throughout the world. A list of items being collected is on the event's Web site at www.RockNResort.com. "In addition to care packages, we are encouraging the public to submit current or veteran military personnel for recognition at the event," Lockard said. Photos, videos and messages can be submitted on behalf of active service personnel, a veteran, or those that have given their lives for the country. These tribute messages will be placed on the two Tribute Towers at the festival site, and will be combined into the live, tribute presentation on Saturday evening. Photos, messages, and videos can be sent via e-mail to Info@FineProductions.biz or by mail to Rock N Resort c/o Clay's Park 13190 Patterson St NW, N. Lawrence, Ohio 44666. Photos and videos should be clearly marked with the name(s) of those in the photo and/or video and should be accompanied by a brief description of the person being saluted. Be sure to include a local contact name, phone number and email in case of questions. Photos and videos will not be returned so be sure to send a copy.Nonprofits can benefitThe Rock N Resort Music Festival committee is offering non-profit organizations an opportunity to turn the music extravaganza into a fundraising opportunity for their cause.
